A US chemical company is looking for a Marketing Manager based in Shanghai.

China Marketing manager


Our client is a US specialty chemical company. Its products are mainly distributed in North America, Europe, Asia, and South America. This is an exciting time to join our client as they are investing heavily in the China Market.



The China Marketing Manager's will revolve around both Traditional Marketing & Product Management. Traditional Marketing will include brand building, localization of the MFS global marketing strategy, market research, and all efforts & actions related to supporting sales in increasing revenues.

The China Marketing Manager will be actively involved in all phases of the New Product Development Process (NPCP) by defining performance requirements, creating business plans, modeling economic value, defining pricing strategies, and ensuring targets are met during development and post-commercialization.

This individual will spend a significant time improving the product lifecycle management process and target industry analysis methods.

Market research results will drive strategic plans, potential acquisition targets, industry segmentation, new product development projects, pricing policies, and promotional efforts.

In addition, the China Marketing Manager will drive the efforts related to Trade Shows, OEM Relationship Development, and Strategic Partnerships, & Industry Associations.


* Utilize the Company's Phase / Gate process to provide product design and New Product Development Process input in order to optimize our product line.
* Direct the product portfolio and perform all aspects of product development, product changes, and product promotions including development procedures, specifying components, packaging design, product positioning, pricing, catalog, and training materials
* Manage and communicate sales information and product changes both internally and externally
* Develop market research studies and analyze results to improve product development process and marketing initiatives
* Regularly perform pricing and competitive analysis by customer channel and recommend strategies to improve market position, improve quality, or reduce costs
* Provide applications assistance as requested to internal and external customers
* Develop and maintain product database with product specifications
* Assist in the applications training of distributors, District Sales Managers, and other personnel
* Produce, maintain, and update annual forecast
* Assist Training department in developing training programs and materials to educate internal and external customers in product selection and use
* Develop training material on all marketing support material and product application information for the District Sales Managers as needed

* Participate as requested in the administration and design of Distributor Policies and Strategies

* Work with the lab to develop a Competitive Intelligence file with emphasis on applications
* Develop, with Manager-Communications, artwork and catalog copy for dealer co-op advertising and catalogs programs
* Represent Marketing team in cross-functional meetings


Key requirements include:

* Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field and five to seven years of experience in product management, market research, or industrial marketing.
* 3+ years MWF or Lubricants or related industries like Machining tools, Tooling, etc/Manufactory industries including Auto, Bearing, General Machining/Other Specialty Chemicals
