A Senior Credit Analyst is needed for MNC Bank in Shanghai. This role will cover SOE and POE clients in China market.

* Client/Internal Client/Business Partners:

* Provide early advice to the business on risk appetite, transaction structuring and risk processes on China related (including both onshore and offshore) credit proposals originating from corporate banking, in order to ensure positive outcomes are delivered for both the Bank and customer in an efficient manner. This requires individuals to be an active Deal Team member in developing, negotiating, and approving transactions. Direct interface with corporate banking clients is required.
* Assess key risk issues in transactions presented. This requires a detailed assessment of transaction fundamentals including asset quality/business risks, regulatory regime, contractual framework, cash flow analysis and security structure.
* Provide a rating recommendation for the subject transaction based on the assessment of business and financial risks. Assessment of rating is critical in determining the Bank's ultimate point of approval and transaction pricing.
* Attend and represent Risk at corporate banking Industry Governance Forum/Review Panel and any other risk related forums in corporate bankings and the Group as may be required.
* Use systems to analyse, prepare, review, recommend or approve credit on proposals.
* Monitor exposure excesses and ensure credit data integrity for the names under coverage.
* Understand relevant industry issues / country risk issues which might impact on external and internal credit environments affecting credit quality and recommend appropriate changes.
* Prepare regular & ad-hoc credit-related data reports for both internal and CBRC on Shanghai branch. To participate in the Bank's internal audit reviews on China related credit files, as well as external CBRC onsite/offsite inspections related to the Bank's annual ROCA assessment etc.
* Ensure risk policies and frameworks are maintained and conducted as approved by the Executive Risk Committee and the Board.
* Collaborate with the domestic and international risk teams on internal projects and productivity initiatives as required.
* Leadership/Management
* Apply leadership and/or team membership behaviour consistent with the Bank's Deal Team approach to transaction development.
* Apply the management systems and processes of the organization to effectively carry out your accountabilities in relation to your resources [people and budget], including planning, decision-making, implementation, monitoring of outcomes, and reporting.

* In relation to your role, identify and assess the risks which could prevent you from achieving the objectives of your role. Plan and execute risk mitigating procedures. On a regular basis, report and discuss the results of your risk management.

* Provide superior service aligned with the client's [and partner's] needs and the organization's business objectives. Contribute to business development through participation in internal/external client meetings and identifying ancillary opportunities.


* At least 7 year experience either in an origination or credit capacity with relevant analytical experience in credit analysis for Chinese large corporates/SOEs at reputable foreign banks.
* Strong analytical ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data for companies/industry sectors, perform historical financial analysis/projections and prepare credit application paper and make approval recommendation to credit approver.
* Be able to work independently but also as a strong team player and be able to build/maintain collaborative relationships with Client Coverage Group/Product teams, as well as other support functions such as Compliance, Finance and Operations.
* Experience in Structured Trade Finance transactions for Chinese POE names.
* Experience in credit analysis on Chinese financial Leasing companies.
* Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or related discipline.
* Fluent in both spoken/written English and Putonghua necessary.
